Protests: Nigerian Law Society condemns attack on Kano High Court, other properties

The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has condemned the unwarranted attack on the premises of the Kano State High Court of Justice (Audu Bako Secretariat) by hoodlums on Thursday.

The society decried the wanton destruction of properties running into billions of naira by hoodlums during the nationwide protest in Kano on Thursday.

This was contained in a statement issued by Barr. Ma’aruf Yakassai, Chairman, Kano Chapter, Nigerian Law Society (NLS), on Friday.

The statement read, ‘’On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire members of the Nigerian Law Society, Kano state chapter, we express our sympathies to  the Hon. Chief Judge of Kano state, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki,  the entire Justices of the Kano state High Court and the entire staff of the Kano state Judiciary.’’

‘’Our sympathies also go out to all the people of Kano state, especially, those who lost their precious and hard earn assets to the unwarranted attacks by the hoodlums, ‘’the statement said.

‘’We wish to further express our sympathy to the Kano state government over the destruction meted on public assets and to also use this medium to call on the security agents to uncover those responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to book. ‘’
