SolaceBase reports that according to the guidelines of those approved to perform Hajj by Nigerian authorities, specifically, NAHCON, pregnant women are discouraged from performing Hajj, especially in advanced stages of pregnancy, considering their health and to prevent distractions from performing the spiritual rites, as nursing a baby affect their focus on the hajj exercise and the energy to perform all the rites.

Moreover, pregnancy increases the risk of health complications, making it a concern for pilgrims and organisers alike.

SolaceBase observed that the female pilgrim either outsmarted the Nigerian hajj authorities or evaded pregnancy screening or otherwise found her way into the holy land.

Efforts to speak with NAHCON’s spokesperson on the development was not successful as her phone line was not going through.

This is coming days after Saudi Arabian officials reportedly arrested the wife and mother of Ado Aliero, a notorious bandit leader in the city of Medina.

The two women were allegedly living under false identities when they were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation connected to a network linked with insurgents operating in Nigeria’s Northwest region.

Many observers expressed surprise at how they were able to beat Nigerian security and the Hajj authorities from the state they departed from, only to be arrested in Saudi Arabia.
