Nigerian Shippers’ Council urges exporters to utilize Dala Inland Dry Port in Kano to enhance trading activities
The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has urged exporters in Kano to take advantage of the Dala Inland Dry Port to boost their export activities.
SolaceBase reports that the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Mr. Pius Ukeyima Akutah made this call on Monday during a familiarization visit to the Northwest zone, where he met with stakeholders.
Akutah emphasized that inland dry ports bring shipping facilities closer to shippers in the hinterlands, enhancing their export capabilities.
“The Nigerian Shippers’ Council is responsible for promoting and developing inland dry ports, with one of our key projects being the Dala Inland Dry Port in Kano. During my visit, I also inspected this port, which, along with the Kaduna and Funtua Inland Dry Ports, forms a crucial part of our infrastructure in the Northwest region,” he said.
Mr. Akutah encouraged shippers to utilize these ports, which are designated as ports of origin and destination, eliminating the need to travel to seaports for exporting products.
