Women Trust Fund holds workshop on gender equality

The Nigerian Women Trust Fund, a women’s political action committee dedicated to increasing representation and addressing Gender equality in line with the National Gender Policy (NGP) 2006 organised a three-day workshop in Abuja.
With the support of the Ford Foundation, the Nigerian women’s trust fund has since inception been creating a series of mentorship programs to aid in creating awareness and developing leaders.

This year’s mentorship program is themed ‘National Institute for Leadership and Ending Violence Against Women Girls.
It was a three-day programme between Tuesday, April 22 and April 25. It included an introduction by the programme officer in person of Omoyemi Oluwatoyin.
The programme introduced the participants to what violence against women and girls are, and right right-based approach to ending violence against women and girls.
The facilitators encouraged the participants to develop a rights-based approach to ending violence against women and girls, by involving the police, legislature, religious leaders, and the media.
