Paris 2024: Nigeria’s Aruna drawn Against Romania’s Lonescu in first-round of men’s singles
Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna will begin action against Romania’s Eduard Ionescu in the first round of the men’s singles, in the table tennis event at the Paris 2024 Olympic starting on Friday, July 26.
Aruna was drawn against Ionescu after the conclusion of the draw conducted on Wednesday, July 24 at the South Paris Arena.

Both players have met once which was during the semifinal of the European Champions League in which the Romanian defeated Aruna 3-2.
Also, another Team Nigeria medal hopeful Olajide Omotayo will take on Iran’s Noshad Alamiyan.

Egypt’s Omar Assar will face Madagascar’s debutant Fabio Rakotoarimanana while Algeria’s Mehdi Bouloussa will take on Croatia’s Tomislav Pucar.

Nigeria-born Congo Brazzaville’s Saheed Idowu will battle Sweden’s Anton Kallberg.
