The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has lauded Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, over its proactive approach in ensuring high standards in its Bachelor of Nursing Science program.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the university’s Acting Director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Malam Bilal Dahiru Tijjani.

SolaceBase reports that the commendation followed a visit by a delegation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council, initiated by the university as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen its nursing program.

During the visit, the council assessed the infrastructure and resources supporting the delivery of nursing education at the institution.

Speaking during the visit, the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Ndagi Alhasan, who led the delegation, expressed satisfaction with the university’s hospitality and commitment.

He praised KHAIRUN for its foresight in engaging the council early and maintaining consistent regulatory communication.

“We commend the proactive approach of KHAIRUN in initiating early and continuous engagement with the council,” Alhasan stated.

Following a comprehensive review of the university’s facilities and academic structure, the council acknowledged the significant progress made by KHAIRUN in establishing a strong foundation for its nursing science program.

While expressing approval, the council also offered recommendations to further enhance the program’s quality and success.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, emphasised that the council’s visit aligns with the university’s strategic commitment to excellence in nursing education. He reaffirmed KHAIRUN’s dedication to meeting national standards as outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
