NSF: Murtala Garo expresses sorrow over death of 21 Kano contingents

Former Kano State deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of 21 Kano State contingents who lost their lives in a tragic road accident.

SolaceBase reports that the athletes were returning home after participating in the National Sports Festival held in Ogun State when the accident occurred in Kura Local Government Area on Saturday.

In a condolence message he personally signed on Saturday, Murtala Sule Garo said he was deeply saddened by the news of the athletes’ demise.

He described their death as a significant loss not only to Kano State but to the entire country.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

He stated, “We are deeply grieved by the news of the death of 21 athletes from the Kano State contingent who participated in the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

“The accident that claimed their lives in Kura Local Government Area on their way back home is truly heartbreaking.

“This is a great loss to our blessed state of Kano and to the entire nation, given the pride and recognition these athletes brought to our dear state,” he added.

Garo extended his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased athletes and prayed for Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them paradise.

“I pray to Allah to grant them eternal rest and comfort their families and friends during this painful time. Ameen,” he said.
