Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has recorded a major academic achievement as all 53 academic programs assessed during the 2024 National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise received full or accredited status.
SolaceBase reports that the development was disclosed in a statement signed by Haruna Aliyu, Registrar of the University, on Thursday.
The accreditation exercise, conducted in October and November 2024, covered undergraduate and postgraduate programs across several faculties, including Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences.

According to the statement, the successful outcome is a clear reflection of the university’s commitment to academic quality, research development, and continuous improvement in teaching and infrastructure.

With this accreditation, the programs are certified to meet NUC standards for the next five years, giving students confidence that their qualifications are nationally recognized for employment, further education, and national service.
According to the statement, BUK management commended the efforts of staff and students who contributed to the success, while reaffirming its resolve to remain a leading centre of learning and innovation in Nigeria and beyond.
