NUC lauds KHAIRUN’s adherence to established guidelines
The Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) has taken a significant stride in bolstering its institutional credibility and academic standards by hosting a high-powered delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the crucial review of its Operational Licence.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Acting Director of University Corporate Affairs and Marketing Directorate, Bilal Dahiru Tijjani, the university confirmed that the two-day exercise, conducted on April 23rd and 24th, 2025, marks a pivotal advancement in its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence.
“This visit, a critical aspect of ensuring compliance with national academic benchmarks, represents another significant milestone in KHAIRUN’s steady ascent towards becoming a model centre of excellence,” the statement read.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, expressed profound appreciation for the NUC’s continued guidance and oversight.
He underscored the university’s readiness and unwavering commitment to meeting all regulatory expectations.

“Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to align with NUC standards. We have fully adopted the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), integrated entrepreneurship education across all our programs, and we are now set to launch both our Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree programs,” Professor Garba stated.
