NYG: Lagos clinches gold in female 100m swimming
Fourteen-year-old Chioma Kanu of Lagos on Saturday clinched gold medal in the 100m freestyle swimming at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta.
Kanu, who was filled with joy, expressed satisfaction with her overall performance at the games.
“I am very glad and feel so excited. I want to thank everyone who supported me, most especially my coach.
“This gold medal is a dream come true for me and I must give thanks to God for this achievement”, she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kanu clinched the gold medal in a time of 1:05:06 minutes.
In the male category, Ibuunife Obajilowo of Kwara won the 100m freestyle to clinch the gold medal in swimming in a time of 1:08:06 minutes. (NAN)
