The Publisher of August24news.com, Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim, has presented a specially designed Governance Advisory Council (GAC) frame to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, in recognition of the council’s contributions to political stability and governance in the state.

The presentation, which took place at the Speaker’s office in Ikeja, showcased a 24-by-34-inch frame containing the names, photographs, local government areas, and senatorial districts of all 35 members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.

The frame also included a tribute segment dedicated to eight late members of the council, honouring their service and legacy.

Ajagbe explained that the initiative was aimed at celebrating the unity of the council members while promoting their role in shaping governance in Lagos.

“The idea of putting the 35 wise men and women of the GAC in a large frame is to showcase their unity and honour. This will no doubt encourage other political leaders to be more dedicated to service, not only to Lagos State but also to Nigeria and humanity as a whole,” he said.

He further noted that the project was a product of extensive research by the August24news.com editorial team. “We did this to encourage our leaders in reshaping, promoting, and rebranding Lagos politics,” he added.

He further disclosed that similar presentations would be extended to the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, commissioners, lawmakers, council chairmen, and other key political stakeholders in the state.

Receiving the frame, Speaker Obasa commended Ajagbe and his team for the gesture and described it as a creative effort that would serve as a historical archive for future generations.

He expressed gratitude and called for a moment of silence in honour of the late GAC members.

Alhaji Mutiu Are, Secretary of the GAC, also described the council as one of the defining features of Lagos politics, while a political analyst and publisher of Upshot Media, Mr. Mojeed Jamiu, lauded the initiative, stressing that GAC members deserved even greater recognition for their contributions to governance in the state.

The GAC, established during the tenure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Lagos governor, remains the highest decision-making body in Lagos politics and has played a pivotal role in sustaining governance and leadership continuity in the state.
