The National Youth Congress for Better Nigeria has accused Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo of an alleged plan to “organize some civil society and other critics of President Muhammadu Buhari administration to form a coalition that will mount pressure on the already fragile state of politics and insecurity in Nigeria”.
Comrade Ali Wali, National President of the National Youth Congress for Better Nigeria disclosed this during a joint press conference in Kano titled “Unmasking the disguised villain of the Nation” expressed dismay over the alleged plans by the Ex-president.
According to him, the alleged plans are “not new, as he has done same with many previous administrations”.
Speaking also, flashing back at the tenure of the former president, Comrade Wali said: “It is widely understood that former President Olusegun Obasanjo sought to change the constitution so that he could prolong his stay in power by running for an unconstitutional third term for the presidency in 2007. To achieve this aim, numerous sources state that Obasanjo and his boys illicitly use public funds amounting to about $500 million in failed third term bid from the excess crude account.”

The National President alleged that the former President has moved “to obliterate the unity” of Nigeria.
He added: “Obasanjo had his chance to solve Nigeria’s problem and he blew it. Till today, he never apologizes nor takes responsibility for the ills his administration has caused Nigeria, but instead have opted to create problems to present regime who are trying hard to solve some of the problems that he helped create.”
Wali further charged Nigerians to wake up and desist from engaging in activities that would disintegrate the nation.
“It is time for Nigerians to wake and stop falling into traps of destruction. Nigeria belongs to us all, and we should not allow them to dictate our thinking or how we should respond to unfortunate situations in our dear country”, he said.
