PHOTOS: Fire destroys 8 cars, carpentry workshops in Kano

A fire outbreak has destroyed about eight vehicles, sheds, and carpentry materials on Tuesday in Kano.

A statement issued by Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, said the incident occurred at an uncompleted building used for carpentry work and car repairs, on Lawan Dambazau Road by rail line, Kano State.

‘’Operatives of Kano State Fire Service arrived at the scene after an emergency call to the control room of the agency by the police officer P & G Kwalli Police Division, ‘’the statement said.

The statement reads, “It is about 300 x 150ft caught by fire, including eight sheds with carpentry equipment and eight cars were burnt. One shed and one car (were met) slightly alight.’’

“With the help of Allah and the effort of our men, we managed to save about 10 sheds with one temporary Mosque and 37 cars were parked at the garage.”

According to the statement, the fire was caused by an electrical spark from the carpenter’s place.
