PHOTOS: Gov Yusuf visits National Security Adviser, Ribadu

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has met with the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.

The meeting was held on Thursday at Ribadu’s office in Abuja.

Although details of their discussion were not made public but the governor said he had a “fruitful engagement” with the NSA.

This is coming amid the battle for the revered Kano throne.

It could be recalled that Governor Yusuf had dethroned Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as Emir of Kano and reinstated Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi as Emir of Kano.

Angered by his action, the governor asked the police to arrest Ado Bayero for “creating tension” in the state with his coming into the town as he was not in the state when he was deposed.

However, Ado Bayero who set up his own court at the mini Palace in Nassarawa, got military protection, giving the impression that he had the Federal Government’s support.

The deputy governor of Kano, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo had accused Ribadu of giving Ado Bayero the support to return to Kano after his dethronement.

Ribadu had denied the allegation and threatened to sue Gwarzo whom he gave an ultimatum to apologise.

The deputy governor has since tendered an unreserved apology to Ribadu, saying he was misled.
