The celebration, held annually on Feb. 7, was conceived as part of efforts to continue the restoration of peace on the Plateau.

It was also conceived to remind the younger generation that the state is home of peace, hospitality and tourism.

The Day of Forgiveness, unveiled and launched by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018 is held to strengthen the peace processes in the state.

It aims at coordinating and implementing efforts to remove toxic narratives, crisis merchandising, violence and tackling root causes of disharmony and intolerance on the Plateau.

“In this light, therefore, citizens of Plateau are called upon to turn out en-masse on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to participate in this epoch-making event,’’ Manjang stated. (NAN)
