FAKE NEWS: Police debunk attack on 18 seater bus with Igbo passengers in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has debunked the viral news circulating on social media regarding an attack on an 18-seater bus carrying Igbo passengers in Kano, describing it as entirely false and misleading.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on Saturday.

SolaceBase reports that the fake news is coming days after 16 northern travellers were killed in Uromi, Edo State.

The police said about 14 suspects have been arrested over the incident that is widely condemned as barbaric.

The statement read,’’ We urge members of the public to disregard this fake news and refrain from spreading unverified information, misinformation, and hate speech that can cause harm, panic, and unrest in the community.
