A prominent figure in the Kannywood industry, Hausa singer El-Mu’az Muhammad Birniwa, has passed away.
The news was confirmed by Abba El-Mustapha, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, via a Facebook post early Thursday morning.
It was gathered that the Kannywood star slumped on Wednesday while playing football in Kaduna and was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

SolaceBase reports that the funeral prayer has been scheduled for 1.00 pm, Thursday at Zangon Daura mosque in Kaduna.
El-Mu’az Muhammad, from Birniwa, Jigawa State, was said to have contributed immensely to the development of the Kannywood industry.
