Prof. Umaru Pate takes over as New VC, Federal University, Kashere
The Pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Communication Bayero University, Kano and a Professor of Mass Communication, Umaru A. Pate on Wednesday, 10th February, assumed office as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere in Gombe State.
The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the University in the presence of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Barrister Yakubu Ruba SAN along with other members of the Council.
Shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership, the new VC who was the immediate past Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, BUK, announced to pursue a six-point agenda as his cardinal principles.

He said academic Excéllence and development, infrastructural and physical development, quality assurance and standards, staff welfare, and Information and Communication (ICT), as well as vigorous, pursue of funding, Would be his priority.
In addition, he said he will ensure a good and harmonious relationship with the host community and all other stakeholders in the state
Prof. Pate while expressing gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the appointment promised to pursue these agenda with a view to making the University great.

According to him, his desire was to make Federal University Kashere as a great citadel of learning not only here in Nigeria but in the global arena.
The professor of Media and Society vowed not to disappoint the expectation of the people.
Members of BUK community in large number attended the ceremony. Prior to the handing over ceremony, the new VC was taken round the institution.
