PROFILE: Kano ADP Governorship Candidate, Sha’aban Sharada

The Kano Action Democratic Party governorship candidate, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada was born February 12th, 1984, at Sharada Quarters of Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State.

In his early life, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada attended Salanta Primary School, he had his post primary education at Government Technical College Kano.

He obtained his 1st Degree in Mass Communication at Bayero University, Kano, BUK from 2007 to 2011.

Sha’aban has a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership between 2019 and 2020 at the London Graduate School, United Kingdom.

Similarly, he acquired a master’s in business administration (MBA) from 2020-2021 at the University of Chichester, United Kingdom.

He has a Certificate in Oil and Gas Contract Management from the London Corporate Training, United Kingdom

Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada joined Freedom Radio, Kano in 2004, as Marketing Assistant.

He handled various programs of all the leading Islamic Sects in Kano, giving every side equal opportunity.

Sha’aban was a political program presenter of ”Romon Dimokradiyya” and ”Siyasa A yau”, which reviewed various political happenings in Nigeria and abroad.

He ran live political rallies, interviews with some states and national political parties’ chairmen, past presidents, governors, Ministers and Diplomats from within and outside Nigeria.

Sharada was appointed Personal assistant Broadcast Media to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 till 2019 when he contested and won the seat of Member House of Representatives Kano Municipal Federal Constituency where he is now the Chairman, Committee on National Security and Intelligence.

Sha’aban took charge of the first media image projection program for APC as well as the activities of the president Buhari in the 19 northern states by initiating a radio program to summarize activities of Mr. President to bridge communication gap with Nigerians.

He is also President General, Network of African Parliamentarians for Defense and Security Committees.

He contested the primary election for the governorship position of Kano state under the platform of the APC and emerged second.

Owing to intense pressure from the people of Kano, he later moved to the Action Democratic Party where he clinched the ticket to run for the governorship election on the platform of the party and he is a recipient of National Honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari

His leadership interest started to manifest when he served as Publicity Secretary of the Kano Youth Promotion Council, later as Pioneer Vice Chairman Sharada Youth Progressive Association, Pioneer Treasurer of Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union of Nigeria, Freedom Radio Chapter, later Kano State Publicity Secretary of Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU).
