Quintuplets mother dies hours after delivery in Kano
A Housewife, Hafsatu Yusuf, who gave birth to quintuplets on Wednesday at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, has died in the early hours of Thursday following complications related to excessive bleeding.
SolaceBase reports that the tragic development comes barely 24 hours after the woman successfully delivered five babies, three boys and two girls at the hospital, in what had been described as a rare and remarkable medical case.
Confirming the incident in an interview with SolaceBase on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar Naisa, said the mother died as a result of severe postpartum bleeding.

He explained that despite efforts by medical personnel to save her life, she did not survive the complications.

“The doctors did their best to manage the situation and save her, but unfortunately, she did not make it,” he said.
Kofar Naisa further disclosed that the five newborns are in stable condition and responding well to medical care.

He added that the Kano State Government has taken full responsibility for the care and welfare of the babies.
“The state government will take care of the babies to ensure they receive the necessary medical attention and support,” he assured.
Hafsatu was a mother of eight children before giving birth to quintuplets on Wednesday.
