It was a rousing welcome for the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who began a day visit to the ancient city of Kano on Monday.
The presidential jet conveying the first lady, and her entourage touched down at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport around 10:15 am to the receptive hands of Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, members of his cabinet, and thousands of NNPP loyalists
After a brief airport ceremony, the motorcade of the First Lady headed straight to pay a courtesy call on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

Hundreds of people including school children lined up the streets to welcome the first lady to Kano.

Mrs Tinubu is in Kano to commission a multi-purpose hall named after her at the faculty of Law, Maryam Abacha American University, Kano campus.
From the itinerary made available to newsmen in Kano, the visiting First Lady will after the inauguration of the hall at MAUN, Kano campus move with her entourage to Government House for launch.
She is expected to depart for Abuja later in the evening.
