Mustafa Sadauki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who won the February 3 re-run elections in Shinkafi constituency of the state has been sworn in as member of Zamfara House of Assembly by Speaker of Bilyaminu Moriki.
The Speaker, who performed the inauguration during the assembly’s sitting in Gusau on Monday, charged Sadauki to work for the development of his constituency and the state in general.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier issued a certificate of return to Sadauki, who defeated his opponent, Usman Shinkafi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with 32 votes.
While the APC candidate got 13,508 votes, the PDP candidate polled 13,540 votes.
Congratulating the lawmaker for winning the election, Moriki urged him to discharge his duties diligently.
“On behalf of the entire members of the Seventh Assembly in the state, I welcome the newly-elected lawmaker to the chamber. We wish you more success in discharging your legislative assignment,” the Speaker said.
