Saudi Arabia extends data capturing for Nigeria’s intending hajj pilgrims

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has extended the deadline for data capturing and grouping of Nigeria’s intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, following an urgent request from the Nigerian government.

The extension was secured after Vice President Kashim Shettima instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, to appeal to Saudi authorities.

Their gracious acceptance means Nigerian Hajj managers now have additional time to finalise pilgrim data.

Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations for National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Fatima Sanda Usara, revealed this in a press statement on Wednesday.

The statement warned that this was a final extension, urging Hajj agencies across Nigeria to work diligently and swiftly to complete all necessary data capture processes to avoid any last-minute complications.

This crucial extension comes just two days after the global closure of the Nusuk Masar data-capturing platform.

NAHCON reiterated its commitment to providing efficient and pilgrim-focused services, pledging to work tirelessly for a successful 2026 Hajj season.
