Security forces and top government officials commenced early morning preparations at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina on Tuesday ahead of the arrival of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s remains from London.

SolaceBase correspondent in Katsina reports that the atmosphere at the airport was solemn yet busy, as personnel from the military, police, and civil defence are coordinating logistics and tightening security around the premises.

Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, was seen inspecting facilities with other government officials putting final touches to the reception area where President Bola Tinubu and other dignitaries are expected to receive the former leader’s body.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to personally receive the former President’s body at the Katsina International Airport.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press briefing on Monday in Abuja
