2023 Election: Senator Kawu Sumaila reacts to alleged anti-party activities

Senator representing Kano South at the National Assembly, Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila has voiced his deep concern over allegations of deliberately withholding support for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) during the 2023 general elections.

Kawu condemned individuals spreading these false claims, accusing them of attempting to create division within the party.

In a viral video shared on social media, on Sunday, Senator Sumaila responded emotionally to the allegations.

SolaceBase gathered that the senator was accused of not contributing to the party’s success during the elections, allegedly due to lingering ties with his former political party, despite having defected to the NNPP and running as one of its candidates.

Sumaila dismissed the accusations as unfounded, saying, “I owe my success to this party and to Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. God knows I have given my all since joining the NNPP, from the campaigns through to the elections and the court battles that we ultimately won.”

He went on to say, “To anyone accusing me of not contributing, I leave the matter in God’s hands for judgment.”

The senator urged his supporters and other party members not to engage in conflicts or respond to the accusations.

“My focus is on serving humanity and bringing about positive change, no matter how small. I have no time for arguments or trading words with anyone,” he stated.

He further reiterated his dedication to his responsibilities as a senator, the tasks he believes he will be held accountable for by God.
