Shettima inaugurates remodeled Bauchi government house

Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Saturday, inaugurated the remodelled government house in Bauchi, urging governors from the Northeastern subregion to prioritize infrastructure and economic growth initiatives in their collective struggle to established legacy projects in their respective states.

Shettima gave the advice during the inauguration of the remodelled Bauchi State Government House constructed by the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed.

The edifice houses nine office buildings including the Governor’s office, his Deputy, and the State First Lady as well as an expanded Governor’s residence, Mosque, and clinic among others.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vice President Kashim Shettima said effective leadership required a conducive working environment that would facilitate the formulation and implementation of laudable policies and programs.

Also Speaking, Governor Bala Mohammed who explained that the former government house was characterized by inadequate space, dilapidated structures and unfavourable working environment said he was inspired to reconstruct the seat of power under his administration’s urban renewal initiative.

He said that his administration’s goal was to establish legacy projects capable of sustaining the ambitious developmental needs of the people of the state.

“We believe we can do it and to the glory of God, the remodelled government house has been done,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Shettima is in Bauchi to inaugurate the 15th Edition of the North-East Domestic Trade Fair and other projects executed by Bala Mohammed’s administration.

The event was attended by governors Babagana Zulum, Inuwa Yahaya, Ahmadu Fintiri, Mai Mala Buni and Agbu Kefas of Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Yobe and Taraba.

In a related development, Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the 15th Northeast Joint Trade Fair holding at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida IBB Square Bauchi.
