The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Abubakar Sule Garo, fondly known as Babangida, the former Managing Director of the Abubakar Rimi Market Management Board in Kano State.

This was disclosed in a condolence message dated May 15, 2025, and addressed to the deceased younger brother, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 Kano State election, and the family of the late Alhaji Sule Galadima Garo.

In the statement, Vice President Shettima described the late Abubakar Garo as a devoted servant of the people who was widely known for his politeness, kindness, and steadfast dedication to community service.

He noted that Garo’s contributions to the development of Kano State, especially through his leadership at the Rimi Market Board, left a lasting impact.

“His demise has left me, as well as many others, saddened. He was a proud and dedicated citizen who loved working for the common people,” Shettima said.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the departed soul and asked for strength and fortitude for the grieving family to bear the loss.
