Society must rethink disability – ENGAUSA advocates

ENGAUSA Global Tech Hub has called for a change in how society perceives disabilities, urging recognition of individuals’ unique abilities rather than their limitations.

Speaking at the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) Sightsavers Graduation Ceremony in Kano, where persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) completed digital skills training, the Tech Hub CEO, Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim emphasized the need for inclusivity.

“At ENGAUSA, we don’t refer to them as Persons Living With Disabilities; rather, we call them ‘People Living With Special Abilities’ because each of them has a unique talent that just needs the right environment to be discovered,” he said.

The event, chaired by DBI President/CEO Mr. Daser David, was attended by government officials and industry stakeholders, including the Senior Special Assistant on ICT to the Kano State Governor, Dr. Yusuf Sharada, who represented the governor.
