SolaceBase reaffirms commitment to ethical journalism at end of year review in Kano

FRIDABS SolaceBase Communications Limited, publishers of SolaceBase Online Newspaper, has reaffirmed its commitment to ethical, professional and impactful journalism as it held its end-of-year office review on Sunday in Kano.

The review session, which brought together management and staff, was organised as part of activities to assess the company’s performance in 2025 and to prepare to bid farewell to the year on a strong ethical footing.

Speaking during the review, the Executive Director of the organization,, Mallam Abdullateef Abubakar Jos, urged staff to continue to uphold integrity, professionalism and accuracy in their reporting, describing ethical journalism as the core value upon which SolaceBase is built.

He stressed the need for staff to maximise their efforts in producing credible, balanced and development-driven stories, noting that public trust remains the newsroom’s most valuable asset.

“Integrity and ethical reporting must always guide our work. As journalists, we must remain committed to truth, balance and public interest, regardless of the challenges,” he said.

He lauded the team for many impactful stories that have changed communities for the better, urging the staff to build on this development in the coming year.

Mallam Abdullateef also expressed appreciation to the company’s clients and partners for their sustained support throughout 2025, assuring them that their contributions would never be taken for granted.

He specifically thanked Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) for its consistent engagement and support, alongside UYK Holdings, El-Samad, Bayero University Kano, Federal University Kashere, Gombe, Skyline University Nigeria, Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Professor Sule Ya’u Sule, Kano ACReSAL, Kano Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and other partners that includes: ICPC, Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, CISLAC, Media Rights Agenda, CITAD, CAJA and CHRICED, who contributed to the company’s growth during the year.

Gifts were distributed to the staff as a token of appreciation to round up the year.
