Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick has confessed to having a preference for foreign coaches for the Super Eagles.
Amaju Melvin said his reason for being averse to indigenous coaches stemmed from lack of respect for them by the players.
“Yes, the Nigerian coaches have the requisite knowledge and the technical ability, but modern football is beyond that in managing players.

“Will the national team players respect the coach? The sad thing is that they don’t”, said Pinnick.

During Pinnick’s time as NFF President, Franco-German Gernot Rohr was in charge of the Super Eagles.

Randy Waldrum was also appointed Super Falcons head coach during his reign.
The NFF is still searching for an expatriate to tinker with the Super Eagles. This follows the resignation of Finidi George, a former Super Eagles player.
