SWAN urges Kano Govt to appoint technocrats to manage sports affairs

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has appealed to the Kano State Government to appoint competent technocrats and professionals with vast knowledge of sports to manage the affairs of Kano Pillars FC and all other sports sectors in the state.

SWAN also calls for the renovations and upgrading of Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars Stadium, Mahaha Sports Complex, Ado Bayero Square, and all other sporting facilities in the state. This will provide conducive environments for athletes to thrive and host national and international events.

This was contained in a statement on Sunday jointly signed by  Zaharaddeen Sale and  Muhammad Nur Tijjani, Chairman and Secretary SWAN Kano State Chapter, respectively.

This move, we believe, will yield positive outcomes and elevate the standard of sports in Kano State.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

‘’To support the development of sports in Kano State, SWAN Kano Chapter has established an advisory committee comprising experienced and intellectual members who are willing and ready to serve in any capacity. Our committee has a comprehensive blueprint to develop sports in the state, ‘’the statement said.

SWAN Kano State Chapter, sympathizes with the current crises affecting Kano Pillars FC. We wish the state government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kano, success in their endeavors and look forward to collaborating with them to promote sports in Kano State.
