Tinubu celebrates Shekarau’s human-centred approach to governance @70

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, on his recent 70th birthday.

President Tinubu hails Shekarau’s consummate public service career, rising from classroom teacher to the position of permanent secretary in Kano State Civil Service, before venturing into politics in the early 2000s.

This was contained in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), on Monday.

President Tinubu recalls Shekarau’s phenomenal election as Kano State governor in 2003 and his human-centred approach to governance in the two terms he served as the governor.

SolaceBase reports that Shekarau was later to serve as Minister of Education (2014-2015) and as Senator representing the Kano Central constituency (2019-2023).

President Tinubu thanks Senator Shekarau for his years of service to the country, as an educator, administrator, and politician.

He prays to Allah to keep the former Kano governor in good health, so that he may continue serving his people and Nigeria.
