Tinubu in emergency security meeting

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with the service chiefs led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa at the Aso Villa in Abuja.

The high-level security meeting comes as tensions escalate following the Tuesday explosion at the Trans-Niger Pipeline (TNP) in Bodo, Gokana local government area of the state.

Authorities are investigating the possible connection of the blast with sabotage, particularly in light of recent threats from militant groups protesting the federal government’s withholding of Rivers State’s monthly allocations.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and the Director General of the Department Of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi; were also present at the meeting.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; and his deputy, Ben Kalu were also spotted at the meeting.
The agenda for the meeting was not made known as of press time but it may not be unconnected to the security situation in the country.
