Tinubu shows off Chicago University schoolmate
President Bola Tinubu on Monday celebrated Alex Sigman, his longtime friend and colleague from Chicago State University, Illinois, the United States.
Tinubu stated this at the launch of the Renewed Hope Mechanisation Programme in the Nigerian capital city, Abuja.
He said the launch of 2,000 tractors and other farm implements at the event was part of Nigeria’s bilateral deal with the European nation Belarus on the mechanisation of farming to eradicate poverty and make Nigeria a partner in food sovereignty.
The event was graced by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich; and Tinubu’s Chicago colleague, Alex Sigman.
During his address, Tinubu said, “My dear very good very, the story must be clear here. Alex Sigman. We were together at Chicago State University.

“To all of you, Alex was my very good neighbour and we went to the same school with me in Chicago.
“Never did we dream that I would be in this position as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that Alex would be a successful businessman from Belarus to bring about a very successful collaboration and bilateral relationship that would promote economic prosperity for the future of our two countries.

“I believe our university will be very proud that we are doing this here today.
“We are proud of what you are doing. I believe that you are happy with what is happening here today. More grease to your elbow.”
Recall that Mr Tinubu’s show of his classmate at Chicago State University comes years after allegations of certificate forgery rocked his presidential ambitions.
Opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party requested court approval to subpoena Mr Tinubu’s files domiciled with CSU because he believed the documents would clarify glaring inconsistencies in the president’s background, including publicly available documents that suggested the CSU in the 1970s admitted a female student bearing Bola Tinubu, who was born on March 29, 1954.
