Two burnt to death as fuel-laden tanker crashes on Zaria – Kano Road

Two people have died after a tanker loaded with diesel crashed and went up in flames along the Zaria-Kano road, near Kura town in Kano State.

According to a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) update, the incident occurred on Thursday at about 1:30 pm when one of the vehicle’s tyres reportedly burst, causing the truck to lose control and overturn before catching fire.

SolaceBase reports that emergency responders from the fire service arrived at the scene within 10 minutes and successfully extinguished the fire.

FRSC officials confirmed that the two occupants of the vehicle were burnt beyond recognition.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

The burnt bodies have been deposited at Kura General Hospital.

The vehicle, with registration number NGZ 250 XA, has been removed from the road, and normal traffic has resumed.

The FRSC cautioned motorists to always maintain their vehicles and observe safety measures to prevent road crashes, especially involving tankers and trailers transporting flammable products.
