The lawmakers—Adamu Tanko, representing Suleja, Gurara, and Tafa Federal Constituency of Niger State, and Jallo Husseini Mohammed, representing Igabi Federal Constituency of Kaduna—announced their defection in a letter read on the House floor by Speaker Dr Tajudeen Abbas.
Citing internal divisions within the PDP as their reason for switching parties, the defectors also stated that their political ideologies now align more closely with those of the APC.
