UNILORIN don elected Co-Chair of Global Anti-Malaria Coalition

Prof. Olugbenga Mokuolu, an expert in Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has been elected Co-Chair of Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership Case Management Working Group.

The information is in UNILORIN’s Bulletin issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, adding that RBM is a global platform for coordinated action against malaria.

The bulletin quoted Mrs Konstantina Boutsika, the Coordinator of the RBM Case Management Working Group, as saying “148 members with voting rights out of 357 participated in the balloting.

“Mokuolu, with 60.8 percent of the votes and returned elected, would co-chair the organization together with Mrs Noella Umulisa, a Rwandan.”

The publication also quoted the Vice Chancellor of UNILORIN, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, congratulating Mokuolu and describing the feat as “monumental”.

Egbewole, who described the renowned Professor and Consultant Paediatrician as “a great pride of the university”, urged him not to rest on his oars.

Similarly, the publication also quoted Mrs Toyin Saraki, a former Kwara governor’s wife and Founder of Wellbeing

Foundation, as saying she was impressed with consistent positive contributions and fascinating accomplishments of Mukouolu in global fight against malaria.

Saraki added that Mokuolu’s leadership would strengthen the vision and action of the partnership, describing him as a pride to the university and Nigeria. (NAN)
