U.S. Presidential Election: No more debates with Harris – Trump

Former United States President and Republican nominee, Donald Trump, has opted out of further presidential debate against his Democrat contender, Kamala Harris, ahead of the November election.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, “There will be no third debate!”

It could be recalled how Donald Trump battled to control his temper as Vice President Kamala Harris took him up on some critical issues during their first encounter.

But reacting to the debate in a post on social media, the ex-president accused the ABC Network moderators of working against him.

On her part, Harris, speaking at a rally shortly after Trump’s post had gone viral, said, “I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate.”

Although Trump had claimed that the polls conducted had favoured him, surveys revealed that respondents thought Harris outperformed him.

Six Republican donors and three Trump advisers who spoke to Reuters earlier in the week have also thought Harris had won the debate, citing that the Republican nominee was unable to stay on message.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Thursday, voters in Tuesday’s debate said 53 per cent said Harris won and 24 per cent said Trump won.

The poll showed that 54 per cent of registered voters believed that the single debate between the Republican nominee and Harris was enough, while 46 per cent had wanted a second debate.

CNN flash poll released shortly after the debate also indicated that the majority of the debate watchers said Harris outperformed the former president.

The debate, according to Nielsen Data, a global leader in audience data and analytics, attracted 67.1 million television viewers.
