Victor Osimhen misses out again in Napoli’s first league win

Napoli got their first win of the Serie A under Antonio Conte, following an impressive 3-0 home win against Bologna on Sunday.

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was further absent in the game as he looks for possible exit from the 2022/23 Serie A champions this summer.

The Nigerian has not made any appearance for Napoli since the start of this campaign, which further heighten reports of his move away from the club.

Napoli took the lead in first half stoppages with a sensational team move.

Di Lorenzo burst down the right, the return pass from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia showed magnificent skill to delicately lift it over the defence first-time, allowing the captain to control with his right boot and score with his left from a tricky angle.

Kvaratskhelia doubled Napoli’s lead when he started the run from the centre-circle and got a bit of luck with a deflection off Sam Beukema.

There was time for David Neres to make his debut and immediately contribute an assist, as he got to the by-line down the right and pulled back for Giovanni Simeone to bundle over from seven yards for the third goal in the 94th minute.
