VIDEO: Fire destroys multimillion naira shops in Kano
A fire outbreak has razed seven mattress shops on Ibrahim Taiwo Road in the Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.
SolaceBase reports that the incident occurred on Sunday night around 7:30 PM.
According to Abubakar Adamu, one of the shopkeepers, the inferno destroyed shops that were filled with multimillion naira worth of mattresses.
“Around 7:30 PM, we had just finished observing prayers outside the shops when the inferno started. We still don’t know the cause of it,” he said.

He added that they are yet to determine the extent of property damage and losses incurred during the incident.

He further stated that the fire was brought under control by the firefighters, noting that there was no casualties.
Efforts to speak with the Kano Fire Service was not successful as the phone line was not connecting and the personnel at the scene of the incident declined to comment.
