Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission has said it is open to investigation on all of its activities at any time.
SOLACEBASE had reported that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) probing activities of the Kano anti-graft agency and its chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimigado
A letter by the EFCC asked Rimingado, the commission’s chairman to send PCACC’s director of finance and accounts to appear at its headquarters in Abuja on August 29, while CCB requested for documents.
Both federal agencies asked the PCACC’s chair to furnish them with financial records and details of forfeited property.
The EFCC letter read, “You are requested to kindly release the director of finance and accounts to report for an interview with the undersigned through the team leader AFF/TC at Plot 301/302 Institution and Research District Jabi, along Airport Road, Abuja on Monday, 29th August 2023 by 10:00 hours.’’
“He should come along with the following information; Details of total funds released to your office by the Office of the Accountant General of Kano state from 2019 to 2021 fiscal year.
“Details of total funds released to your office by the Kano state Ministry of Local Government from 2019 to 2021 including contracts executed and details of beneficiary accounts.”

CCB letter reads in part: “Consequently, you are kindly requested to furnish the Bureau with certified True Copies (CTC) of detailed information on the following: All contractual undertakings by the Commission from 2016 to date.
“All records of recoveries, forfeiture and management of the same from 2016 — date;
“Records of all financial allocations to the Commission including donor agency funds from 2016 to date;
“Status of all the commission’s buildings across the local government of the state.”
Speaking to SOLACEBASE in an interview on Monday, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado said the investigation of his commission by the two federal agencies is a welcome development, expressing confidence that the agency would come out clean.
‘’Honestly, we are not losing our sleep over the investigation by EFCC and CCB, all along we have always been open and requested that anybody can scrutinize our activities even our books, ‘’ Rimingado said.
‘’We are already collaborating with the agencies as our director of finance and accounts has traveled to Abuja with some of our Lawyers taking with them the documents requested.’’
Rimigado said surprisingly, the commission’s local government offices across the 44 LGAs they are requesting details about were not constructed by the commission but rather the ministry of Local Government gave out the contract.
‘’You see we know where all these are coming from but their efforts would not stop us from carrying out our responsibilities of fighting corruption.’’
When asked if the investigation by the federal agencies would affect the cordial working relationship with the Kano anti-graft body, Rimingado said rather it will wax stronger the relationship at the end of the day as the commission has nothing to hide.

‘’Even apart from the two agencies, we have mostly been obliging request for Freedom of Information Act, on any of our activities.’’
