2024: Why Gov Yusuf removed KIRS Chairman, reconstitutes management structure

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of Dr. Zaid Abubakar as the new Executive Chairman, Kano State Internal Revenue Services (KIRS).

The Governor also approved the appointment of Kassim Ibrahim as the Executive Director of the Revenue Board.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.

The statement said the new management structure takes effect immediately.

According to the statement the former Chairman of Kano State Internal Revenue Services Alh. Sani Abdulkadir Dambo has been reassigned to serve as Special Adviser on Investment to the Governor.

The statement said the move was part of efforts of the government to improve the internally generated revenue of the state.
