‘Why I don’t allow my artistes release songs same day as Wizkid, Asake’ – Don Jazzy
Music executive and CEO of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy has revealed that he does not allow his artists to release songs or projects on the same day as Wizkid or Asake.
In a podcast interview with Fisayo Fosudo, he stated that releasing songs on the same day as the pair is suicidal.

Wizkid and Asake are some of Nigeria’s most popular artists in the streaming era.
Don Jazzy stated: “We [Mavin] are moving from the traditional Friday release date to Wednesdays and Thursdays because there are no more Fridays [without another musician dropping a song].

“If my artiste is to drop a song or project on a Friday and Wizkid or Asake is also releasing that day, I will move our release date because you don’t want to just die a natural death.”
Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Johnny Drille, and Lifesize Teddy are among the artists signed by Mavin Records.
