World Cancer Day: Albinism Association calls for more support to prevent skin cancer
The Albinism Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, has urged government agencies, ministries, and philanthropists to provide critical support to persons with albinism, emphasizing their heightened risk of skin cancer.
In a statement on Tuesday, the association’s chairman, Abdulsalam Kehinde Hussein, highlighted the urgent need for intervention, noting that individuals with albinism are particularly vulnerable to the sun’s harmful rays.
He called on the Ministry of Health to offer free monthly medical examinations and treatment for those affected.
