World NGO Day: Kano to partner CSOs for developmental projects

Kano state government has reiterated its commitments to partner with Civil Society Organizations CSOs, international organizations and donors, and other stakeholders in order to make Kano safe and secure where developmental projects can be introduced and sustained.

Special Adviser to Kano state governor on NGOs Hajia Yardada Mai Kano Bichi made the assertion on Monday, at a news conference organized to commemorate 2022 World NGO day.

Hajia Yardada said, “Sunday, the 27 February, 2022 is an important day for the civil society community, its families, friends, well-wishers and stakeholders who have been on their feet-working around the clock for a just, productive, and progressive society.  As we are all aware, the idea to appreciate and celebrate the immense contributions of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), emanated from European Union, United Nations, and many other International organizations.”

She noted that to celebrate world NGO day, Kano state government has organized some key events, including, colloquium where series of educational discussions and paper presentations on matters needing the attention of all and sundry will be held, and empowerment program for women.

According Yardada Mai Kano Bichi “Kano state government is happy and satisfied with kind of support being provided to the state which complements its plans, programs and projects, hence it is imperative this kind gesture by engaging CSOs/NGOs, international organizations and donors, corporate organizations and philanthropists in all what Kano state government does to address the yearning needs of its populace.”

She expressed gratitude to all CSOs, NGOs, relevant MDAs, development partners to and other stakeholders for their collective efforts to ensure sustainable development of the state.
