PHOTOS: Yusuf, Kwankwaso, Barau attend funeral prayers of Galadima Abbas Sunusi

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, with other dignitaries, attended the funeral of Galadiman Kano Alhaji Abbas Sunusi at the burial ground on Wednesday.

The 16th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II was also in attendance.

SolaceBase reports that the late Galadima passed away on Tuesday night at his Kano residence, following a prolonged illness, at the age of 92.

Thousands of mourners attended the burial prayer, conducted by Professor Sani Zahradden, the chief of Kano, at Kofar Kudu, Kano Emir Palace.

The remains of Galadima were laid to rest at the Gandun Albasa cemetery.

As a mark of respect, the Kano state government suspended its Sallah activities, while the 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, also suspended his Sallah activities to mourn the demise of Galadima.

The late Galadima who held the most senior title in Kano Emirate, was the father of Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
