UNGA80: Gov Yusuf secures school feeding,investment opportunities for Kano

‎Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting global partnerships that will boost education, healthcare, and economic growth in the state.

‎‎Speaking on the outcomes of Kano’s participation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) High-Level Week in New York, the governor announced new opportunities for school feeding programs, health interventions, and foreign investments.

‎‎Governor Yusuf was represented at the global event by the Emir of Kano, Khalifah Muammad Sanusi II, PhD, CON, alongside the Director-General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Muhammad Naziru Halliru.

‎‎A statement issued by the governor’s Spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday said at the sidelines of UNGA80, Emir Sanusi met with Kenyan entrepreneur Wawira Njiru, founder and CEO of Food4Education, to explore collaboration on school feeding in Kano, including access to African Development Bank (AfDB) funds dedicated to such programmes.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

‎‎Kano’s delegation also featured at the Global Compact: Unstoppable Africa, the Cavista Holdings/Corporate Council on Africa Summit, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers Event, where the state’s vast investment potential, healthcare priorities, and human development needs were highlighted to global partners.

‎‎Governor Yusuf said these engagements demonstrate his administration’s determination to position Kano as Nigeria’s leading investment hub.

GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS

‎“Our investment agenda is already yielding results. By building global partnerships, we are strengthening our economy, improving the well-being of our people, and laying the foundation for sustainable development,” the governor stated.

‎He disclosed that the state will soon unveil a five-year multi-sectoral investment strategic plan to attract investors, boost revenue, and expand opportunities for Kano people.
