Zamfara NUJ condemns abduction of Jangebe schoolgirls


Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed shock over the kidnapping of over 300 female Students at GGSS Jangebe, Talata Mafara, local government area.

This was contained in a statement signed by Abdurrrazaq Bello Kaura, the state chairman of NUJ, on Friday.

The statement said the abduction of the students came to the union with the nostalgic feeling as the state is celebrating the repentance of some bandits from diverse locations of the state through the Peace Initiative of the state government.

It said the NUJ reaffirms its commitment to professional and patriotic reporting of issues towards the attainment of a lasting solution for the state against the menaces of banditry and other criminal activities that is negatively impacting on socio-economic development of the State and Northern Region.

‘’Furthermore, the Union pledges support and cooperation to the Zamfara State government and security agencies in the state, in an effort to rescue the abducted students,’’ said the statement.
