2022: KEDCO turnover hits N5.5bn

Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has recorded the highest volume of business density with N5.5bn collection in January, 2023 which is the highest collection ever in the company’s history.

SOLACEBASE reports that the volume of revenue generated when the Managing Director, Ahmed Dangana took over in June, 2022 the collection was N3.2bn, hence the increase was between June 2022 and January 2023, across it’s franchise states of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.

KEDCO, Managing Director, Ahmad Dangana gave the insight of the company’s revenue stock on Monday at the ongoing management retreat holding in Kano.

KEDCO boss who expressed satisfaction over the revenue performance of the energy distribution company in the out-gone year hinted that gross income amounted to 70 percent increase compared to previous record.

Besides, Dangana revealed that KEDCO has also increased it’s market remittance from 42 percent in June 2022 to 58 percent at the end of the year, a steady move towards hitting her 70 percent anytime soon.

The MD explained that energy distribution to consumers within the period under review has upwardly improved, reminded that KEDCO has sustained investment worth N17 billion to build efficient and effective network system.

According to Dangana, the huge investment include massive repair of 250 transformers across it’s networks and other commitments geared towards delivery quality service to esteem customers.

He added that KEDCO under his leadership is undergoing organisational restructure that brings about innovative solution and ideas to improve better service as well as high premium on staff welfare.

The MD added that the retreat is designed to evaluate activities of the company in 2022 and set ambitious but achievable target for the year 2023.

KEDCO Chief Commercial Officer, Abubakar Yusuf assured of renewed commitment to providing consumers with timely and consistent solution to complaints.

Yusuf reminded that KEDCO is ready to meet high demand of customers especially in the areas of energy billing system and metering adding that more than 80,000 pre-paid meters had so far been delivered to KEDCO’s franchise areas under the National Mass Metering Program of Federal government.

To further bridge the wide gap of metering customers, Yusuf said KEDCO is providing consumers with alternative option of metering through Vendor financing and other private arrangement of making pre-paid meter available.
