Vice President-elect Shettima visits IBB

The Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, has visited Minna, Niger State, to confer with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd), on Thursday.

On arrival at the IBB’s hilltop mansion, they both went into a meeting behind closed-door.

The Vice President-elect also paid a visit to the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouk Bahago, immediately he left the IBB residence at about 3.30pm.

Speaking to journalists, after another visit to another former military leader, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Vice President-elect said that the elder statesmen as stakeholders have a lot to offer to humanity and the nation, especially on issues that affect the nation.

“Stakeholders are beacon of hope and will continue to tap from their wealth of experience. They have a lot to offer the nation and humanity.

“We will continue to reach out to them for their advice, inputs and perspectives on issues confronting us as a nation,” said Shettima.

On what Niger state should expect in the next administration at the Federal level, Shetima assured Nigerlites of a new lease of life.

According to him, “there is no course for alarm as the challenges of the state will be adequately addressed.”

He commended the present administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for ensuring relative peace in the state which he described as an essential ingredient for development.
